She is an interesting species this one. She saves hard for the EOFY and Boxing Day sales. She’s first in line when the door opens. She is a pack animal and shops with a friend or family member. They fuel each other. It’s an outing, lunch, coffee and cake are all part of the deal. The day usually finishes with a glass of bubbly.
She likes quality and will take what she gets. She’s not usually shopping consciously with a list. If her size is gone, she is easily swayed to ‘make do’ with what is there. By the time the garment is altered to fit, it comes close to paying full price anyway.
I’ve seen her buy a size too small with the intention of a heavy detox to fit into it. It’s true. I’m not making this up.
The bargain hunter has active accounts on ebay, gumtree and facebook market place. She has time to kill and trawls for bargains.
She can also be found at the local charity shop scouring for her size and looking for something that might excite her.
Let’s face it, sometimes she absolutely nails it! More often than not, she has a wardrobe full of orphans.
Unique pieces that have nothing else to go with them. Yeah, it was a bargain but the cost per wear is really high. In her mind, she is saving money.
I learned early on from my mother to buy quality. Ah, mothers know best eh?
